We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Temporary Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Craigavon Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The successful candidate will support the nursing team in delivering patient-centered care and ensure the smooth operation of the ward.

Key Responsibilities:

– Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. – Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff. – Support the nursing team with clinical tasks as required. – Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the ward environment. – Provide emotional support to patients and their families. – Assist with the safe moving and handling of patients. – Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. – Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and health and safety guidelines.

Required Skills:

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. – Strong observational skills and attention to detail. – Ability to work effectively as part of a team. – Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. – Basic clinical skills and knowledge of healthcare practices. – Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. – Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and handling.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Previous experience in a healthcare assistant role is essential. – NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification. – Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable. – Knowledge of patient care standards and practices.

Shift Pattern:

– Day shifts, with flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
